Quadcopters are currently one of the most versatile aero-machines. Their quad rotor system allows pitch, yaw, roll and acceleration; however, with these dimensions comes with the unfortunate disadvantage of a short flight time. The goal of this project is to minimize the power consumption of the quadcopter, i.e., to manipulate the endurance factor. The process of my research, conducted at Kutta Technologies, includes the construction of a quadcopter and then a process of variable manipulations that might theoretically decrease the power consumption. In the end the variables blade ratio, ducted propellers, and stability should increase the endurance of the quadcopter. The work done here would allow a better understanding of the quadcopter aerodynamics and help people save money.
