Project Abstract

One of the most important projects NASA is working on is examining solar systems for planets within the "habitable zone." Although this is my first experience with astrophysics, I am planning on using my internship with the University of Arizona's Astronomy Department as a learning experience to broaden my field of interest. Through my project, I will research the stars within our nearby solar systems in order to search for a habitable region of planets around them. This was part of the preliminary research of one of NASA’s projects, as they work on finding planets capable of having life. The goals of my project are to contribute to the community of individuals searching for habitable exoplanets, and to pursue/broaden my interests in astrophysics in preparation for university study.
