Project Abstract

The purpose of this project is to expose me to the real world engineering process. I will focus the objective of my project on exploring each stage of the engineering process, to provide insight to myself and future students interested in engineering. Another component that I will be exposed to is the sales side of production. When people think about what an engineer does, the majority of them picture a person designing something on a computer, printing blueprints, and sketching things. Many forget that people have to sell what they make, and an engineer with entrepreneurial focus makes AND sells. To cover this stage of the manufacturing process, I will spend time shadowingthe co-founder of Stabiltec, who handles the sales of the company. While this project will help me immensely in choosing the type of engineering that I want to pursue, I mainly want to provide insight of different work environments for younger students at BASIS Tucson North, who aspire to pursue engineering in their future. I will expose each component of the engineering process, sharing the all the complex tasks that engineers accomplish on a regular basis.
